The Elevator in Cinema and Gaming
I have written much on the similarities and differences between composing cinema and composing games; what I’ve been referring to in my research as Compositional Space.
In the constant search for examples I’ve been looking at the construction of time and space by ‘actuality’ vs time and space by ‘manipulation’. An example of this - between the temporal and spatial composition of cinema as opposed to gaming - might be observed in a simple example of an Elevator Scene.
