I hit a wall with the development of my thesis structure. A very simple wall but one that took some work to surmount. What is central to the arguments I am making in regard to cinematic space is that the modes of reception (the aesthetics of new and hybrid cinematic forms) are inextricable from the modes of production. In other words how cinema is made effects how it is recieved and vise versa.

In the old structure I had broken the thesis down into the three defined spaces - Compositional, Developmental and Relational - but this was inherently problematic as it segmented and made disjointed sections focused on compositional aesthetics from those based on developmental processes. i very much intend for these to be fused very tightly together.

So I have re-written and re-worked the structure throughly based on a different framework that allows for a more integrated examination.
