Spatial Fixation
Taking the bus to work, whilst everyone around me is contemplating internal navels and caffeine breakfast possibilities, I began to absently ruminate on the personal camera in intimate, fixed space. The notion of the personal camera, the phone camera, the security camera and the hidden camera - not as removed observers of space but as occupants of space fixed into the physicality of the space. Their prime sensibility is one of tangible occupation, of presence. The first camera, the camera obscura, was a a room with a hole in the wall, a spatial tool to capture an image - now we seam to have an image tool to capture a space.
